What are Biometrics?
Biometrics include your fingerprints and photograph. They are used to confirm your identity and help prevent fraud. Biometrics are valid for 10 years, so you won't need to provide them again if you apply for another visa within this period.
Who Needs Biometrics?
Most visa applicants aged 14-79 must provide biometrics. Exemptions include:
- Children under 14 and adults over 79
- Diplomats and government officials
- US citizens with valid US visa

How to Book Biometrics Appointment
- After submitting your visa application online, you will receive a Biometric Instruction Letter (BIL)

Biometrics Fee
The biometrics fee is CAD $85 per person or CAD $170 per family (2 or more people). This fee is separate from the visa application fee.
